KainPinoy.com

“A collaborative food blog of two friends who loves to eat,” is how the authors describe the blog. And love eating is what you get! They should put a warning that says “Do Not View when Hungry” or “Not Suitable for Hungry Audiences!” By the time we finished reading selected articles, we were famished and all we could grab were some lousy French fries from a leftover fastfood earlier.

There’s nothing like a food blog that incorporates great macro photography. The authors surely knows their Photo 101. The photos of each featured food are outrageously mouth-watering! The desserts look sinfully luscious and the food simply delectable! Pictures are definitely worth a thousand words.

Kain Pinoy as a verb translated to English means: To eat (kain) Filipino food or as a noun, Philippine or Filipino eating. They nailed this dotcom good!

The articles are detailed and fetching. The layout is not imposing, the entire site absolutely ad-free!

We salivated over the Filipino food section but were slightly disappointed upon clicking the “Street Food” section. We were excited to find out how these two would tackle on this quirky and unusual side of Philippine dining and what kind they would present but there wasn’t any. We thought the Takoyaki, though of Japanese origin, could very well fall into the street food category given that it is cheap, quick and somewhat weird in itself (three key factors of a street food!). On the other hand, we’re not sure if Minataimis na Saba (sweetened banana), and Guinataan Halo-halo (warm fruit mix & root crop stew in Coconut milk) could be categorized as street food either but we’ll have them that…

Where is the ‘Philippine street food guide?’ :-) We know it’s coming. Given that the blog debuted only in April 2008, there’s plenty of time to cover Street food Philippine style. It was just one of our interests since we miss Philippine dining so much especially the cheap thrills of street food eating!

This is a blog that you can re-visit again and again, and we are going to. We’ll make sure we had eaten next time around though! LOL

Co author of this food blog is: Ryan, the Delusional Chef. Worth noting that this blog is part of the “Evil Martian Network” which we visited and like too! Here’s giving some link love and go visit: Life on Pinky Street, Just Wandering.org, Something Evil This Way Comes, and My Internet Lifestyle. Does this blogger ever have time to sleep? ;-)
