Pinay Dreamer’s Chronicles

If you expect to be engaged or engrossed by a personal blog; if you expect a Filipino website is going to draw you in; if you truly anticipate or even demand excellence from a Pinoy/Pinay blogger- and if you have been searching long and hard to find that blog, your search ends here.
The ultimate in witticisms and bitch-isms; of idealism versus realism created in the realm of literature and philosophy– the Chronicles of a Pinay Dreamer is by far the most compelling personal blog we have ever encountered.
The blogger uses the simplest of layouts. Her entries have the features of what one finds in typical personal blogs: ‘gut-spilling’ memes, infectious tags, posts about her favorites in life, ramblings and just about anything her inspiration takes her.
What sets this personal blog apart is her ability to transcend mediocrity and transform even the most mundane of posts into something really worth reading! The Symbolism and metaphors are downright, delicate and beautiful. Her essays are deep and cutting. This is literature at its finest.
Never mind that her epithet writes: ** “Chuvaness… Chakaness… Eclavu…” Upon further digging, this is actually in reference and tribute to her best friends and herself from way back.
The writer exemplifies all the makings of a great novelist and we write with the slightest reprimand that when all the curiosity of being in a foreign land ceases, she should seriously consider drafting on her very first fiction. Her writings are meant for bigger things to come and we believe she should ‘invade’ the world of books. Heaven knows, the Philippines is hungry for more exemplary writers of this generation.
** For the sake of those who wants to get an idea of the meaning: Chuvaness comes from the root “chuva,” which according to the urban dictionary is: “When you run out of words or you do not know what word comes after a word, you say ‘chuva’.” Chaka and eclavu may have similar meanings. -ness is a state or quality of being… eg. chuva.
We don’t claim to be an authority in Philippine dialects but we will try to decipher them. In reality, these words are actual neologisms introduced by the quirky and fun to be with Filipino gays, injected into the mainstream of Philippine culture and has become widely accepted over time. They are colloquial expressions that defies real definition! They convey different meanings in different regions of the Philippines and are mostly said in the spirit of merriment and even of endearment- in the case of the blogger’s chosen byword to her blog…
