Ateneo University and De La Salle University has a long standing rivalry and with good reason. They are among the Top 3 premier and best schools in the Philippines- the other being University of the Philippines. These schools compete academically and excels in various areas be it in sports, arts, debate, medicine, law among others.
The networking site is an interesting concept as it merges Ateneo de Manila (and other Ateneo Schools) and De La Salle University as one university. In their site they declare, “Ateneo de La Salle University is the fast growing social network community for Ateneans and La Sallians worldwide. A school of diverse culture, dialects and religion, united by one dream – peace.”
Their Mission Statement further explains: “Whether you are an Atenista or La Sallista, our success depends largely on how well we work as a team. We value unity because we believe that we can achieve more if we work and think as one.”
Perhaps online they could find ‘peace’ and camaraderie after all.
